Nakuru Girls High School

Arise and Soar with the Eagle

Established in 1927 and situated on a splendid 150-acre land in Nakuru Town along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway, Nakuru Girls High School graces its position as one of the few national schools in Kenya. Originally known as the Francis Scott High School, the institution has a rich history, deeply intertwined with Kenya's emergence into independence. In 1963, the school pivoted to recognize the country's sovereignty and embraced a new chapter under the Nakuru High School banner.

With a mandate to provide high-quality education, the school took a significant stride in 1964 and opened its gates exclusively to girls. Following a successful run as a coeducational institution, strategic changes were made and by 2006, Nakuru Girls High School was a separate entity, focusing solely on the academic and developmental needs of young women.

Today, the school thrives under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Rose Menjo and is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth. In keeping with its long-standing tradition of instilling resilience, hard work, and scholarliness, Nakuru Girls High School continues to stand as a beacon of female education within the country. The institution is a boarding school, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students to live and learn.

Values such as integrity, dedication, and respect form the bedrock of our institution and are reflected in every aspect of our ethos. They have been the guiding principles which have driven us from our humble beginnings to the top-performing school we are today. We welcome you to join us in our enduring mission to empower the next generation of women leaders.
